Accounting Specialist

Role Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support bookkeeping, reconciliations, month-end close, reporting, invoicing, collections, payroll processing, and related accounting workflows. This is a remote role for someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable working independently, and able to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and professionalism.

The ideal candidate has strong bookkeeping experience, solid QuickBooks knowledge, excellent written and verbal English communication skills, and the ability to follow established processes. Experience with IT companies, MSPs, ConnectWise, or client-facing bookkeeping environments is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records in QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Assist with month-end close activities
• Review Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets for accuracy
• Identify discrepancies, missing information, or unusual transactions
• Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules
• Support accounts receivable follow-up and collections efforts
• Assist with monthly invoicing processes
• Support payroll processing as needed
• Assist with sales and use tax filing as needed
• Organize and maintain digital financial records and supporting documentation
• Communicate professionally regarding outstanding items, missing documentation, and financial information
• Assist with ConnectWise-related bookkeeping workflows, data review, and account management
• Follow cybersecurity and data security procedures
• Manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a remote environment

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related finance experience
• Strong experience with QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop
• Experience performing bank and credit card reconciliations
• Experience supporting month-end close processes
• Ability to review financial statements and identify discrepancies
• Experience preparing financial reports or supporting schedules
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines at the same time
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills
• Basic cybersecurity awareness, including phishing, email security, password safety, and handling sensitive financial data

Requirements

• Experience working with IT companies, MSPs, or professional services businesses
• Experience with ConnectWise Manage or similar PSA/business management software
• Experience with accounts receivable follow-up and collections
• Experience with payroll processing
• Experience with sales and use tax filings
• Experience working in a client-facing bookkeeping or outsourced accounting environment
• Familiarity with recurring revenue, project billing, agreements, service tickets, or MSP invoicing workflows

Remote Work Requirements

• Reliable fiber internet connection with a minimum speed of 100 Mbps
• Battery backup or UPS for internet connectivity
• Battery backup or UPS for workstation equipment where applicable
• Dedicated work device used only for work purposes
• Computer with at least an Intel i5 processor or equivalent
• Minimum 8 GB RAM, with 16 GB RAM preferred
• Device must be less than 5 years old
• Noise-cancelling headset suitable for client calls and virtual meetings
• Quiet, professional workspace suitable for remote work
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and securely handle client financial information
• Willingness to follow all cybersecurity, data security, and acceptable-use policies

Work Schedule

This is a full-time remote position. Candidates must be able to work hours as directed by the client, including overlap with U.S. business hours as needed.
