AssemblerThe Assembler plays a key role in building specialized equipment used in aviation and military applications. In this role, you assemble plane de-icers, aircraft tow vehicles, cargo loading systems, airport gate equipment, and related mechanical and electrical systems. You work within one or more departments—Loader, Deicer, and Traitor—and may be cross-trained across all areas. The position involves troubleshooting, repairing, and assembling mechanical and electrical equipment while following detailed blueprints and schematics and maintaining high quality standards through self-inspection.ResponsibilitiesAssemble plane de-icers, aircraft tow vehicles, cargo loading systems, airport gate equipment, and military-related equipment according to engineering drawings and work instructions.Work within one or more departments (Loader, Deicer, and Traitor) and cross-train across departments as needed to support production demands.Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on equipment and components, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs.Perform mechanical assembly using hand and power tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, files, grinders, and similar tools to make secure connections with nuts, bolts, washers, and screws.Make electrical connections using pre-fabricated harnesses, cutters, wire strippers, and crimping tools to ensure safe and reliable wiring.Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and assembly drawings to understand specifications, tolerances, and assembly sequences.Conduct self-audits and inspections of assembled work using drawings, checklists, and quality standards to verify accuracy and completeness.Follow established production and assembly line processes, meeting quality, safety, and productivity targets.Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve assembly or design issues and support continuous improvement efforts.Maintain a clean and organized work area, properly storing tools, equipment, and materials and adhering to safety guidelines.Handle materials and components in an industrial manufacturing environment, including retrieving parts from the yard when required.Essential SkillsAt least 2 years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or related environment.Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical/mechanical schematics.Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in assembly, installation, and repair of mechanical systems.Ability to use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, files, and cutters safely and effectively.Ability to operate power tools such as drills and grinders for mechanical assembly tasks.Experience making mechanical connections using nuts, bolts, washers, and screws to specified torque and alignment.Experience making electrical connections using pre-fabricated harnesses, wire strippers, cutters, and crimping tools.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment.Comfort working in a production or assembly line environment with established processes and standards.Ability to follow detailed drawings, checklists, and work instructions and perform self-inspection of completed work.Basic understanding of safety practices in an industrial manufacturing setting.Additional Skills & QualificationsHydraulic system experience is a plus, including familiarity with hydraulic components and connections.Previous experience in industrial manufacturing, aviation equipment, or military equipment assembly is advantageous.Experience in fabrication or construction environments is beneficial.Experience with installation and repair of complex mechanical and electrical assemblies is preferred.Strong attention to detail and quality, with the ability to identify and correct assembly issues.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate clearly about technical issues.Willingness to be cross-trained across multiple departments and types of equipment.Adaptability to changing production needs and tasks within the manufacturing environment.Why Work Here?You join a stable, growth-oriented manufacturing organization that values its employees and invests in their well-being. The primary work area is air-conditioned, providing a comfortable environment for most daily tasks, while occasional trips to the outdoor yard for materials may be required, where conditions are not climate-controlled. You work around heavy equipment, tools, and machinery, following established safety procedures. Hand and power tools are provided on site, and you operate within a structured production and assembly line setting with clear processes and quality standards.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
