Who You Are As the Director of Security , you are a mission-driven, results-oriented leader responsible for building and leading an integrated, enterprise-wide security capability that protects personnel, operations, and critical assets across a complex government contracting environment. You will operate at the intersection of security, risk management, compliance, and operations, ensuring the organization maintains a risk aware posture across all phases of the business lifecycle, from capture and proposal through contract execution and crisis response. This role requires both strategic support and operational execution, with accountability for security performance, regulatory compliance, and real-time response to emerging threats across domestic and international operations. In this role, you will support the development and execution of a centralized, enterprise-wide security function that integrates personnel security, physical security, facility security, and crisis management support into a cohesive and scalable capability. You will serve as the Lead Facility Security Officer (FSO) and senior security authority for the organization, ensuring full alignment with NISPOM requirements, DCSA expectations, and broader national security obligations. Your management will be instrumental in positioning the organization to support growth and expansion into additional classified and sensitive programs by fostering and supporting a security architecture that is both operationally effective and audit-ready. You will enable front-line project teams to serve as real-time inputs into crisis reporting and risk identification, strengthening the organization’s ability to respond quickly and decisively to emerging threats. Through close partnership with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, you will provide actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making, enhance resilience, and reinforce the organization’s reputation as a trusted partner in secure mission delivery. What You’ll Do Manage the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of all security operations supporting national security portfolios, ensuring they meet evolving mission demands and regulatory compliance. Ensure a centralized enterprise security capability to support growth, classified capture, crisis reporting, and risk management while ensuring flawless DCSA performance. Maintain a risk aware organizational presence focused on pre-award, post-award and enterprise risk factors in conjunction with project kickoff and execution monitoring. Lead enterprise personnel security programs, managing clearance processes, reinvestigations, and incident reporting in coordination with the appropriate government agencies (DCSA, DoD, IC). Serve as a senior security advisor on programs involving Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), overseeing classification reviews and enforcing strict access protocols. Lead the execution of security strategies as Facility Security Officer (FSO) and oversee a team of FSOs, ensuring alignment with NISPOM, ICDs, and all relevant security frameworks. Develop and deploy scalable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Security Plans, and risk mitigation protocols that align with operational objectives. Oversee physical security initiatives including access control systems, surveillance architecture, and emergency preparedness plans. Partner with proposal and program teams to integrate security considerations early in the lifecycle of new business pursuits and contract execution. Provide formal security education, training, and awareness campaigns for internal stakeholders, reinforcing accountability and readiness. Support internal investigations of security breaches or violations and lead remediation efforts with discretion and urgency. Leverage industry knowledge and government relationships to shape long-term security postures and influence evolving requirements. Contribute to executive-level decision-making and corporate strategic planning through security risk assessments and trend analyses and through situations of crisis management. What You’ll Bring Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership in national security or classified program environments, with full-spectrum Program Security Officer (PSO) experience. Bachelor’s degree in related field. Expert-level understanding of NISPOM, ICDs, DCIDs, Executive Orders, and emerging security policies governing classified environments. Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, work autonomously, and deliver under pressure in small, high-performing teams. Prior hands-on involvement in SCI and compartmented program operations. Working knowledge of COMSEC and associated communication security practices. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including developing official reports and presenting to executive leadership. Current TS Clearance with SCI eligibility is required at time of application. Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration. Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen. Comply with company drug and alcohol policy. Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date. Compensation Expected Salary: $200,000/year Versar Global Solutions is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the Company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
