The Sales Development Rep (SDR) will be responsible for developing new leads, communicating with customers via telephone, email and virtual connections, understanding customer needs and ensuring a smooth sales process. The SDR will be a knowledge base of the company’s products and services to offer the best sales experience to prospects and customers. The SDR’s main function is to be a driven problem solver, identify new sales opportunities, build relationships and move opportunities through the sales pipeline.

• Be the first point of contact for new business prospects and determine next steps for each prospect moving forward.

• Communicate with customers; make outbound calls to potential customers; follow up on leads.

• Understand customers’ needs and identify sales opportunities.

• Answer potential customers’ questions and send additional information as required.

• Keep up with product and service information and updates.

• Create and maintain a pipeline of current and potential customers. Record all progress in CRM system.

• Explain and demonstrate features of products and services.

• Overcome technical and business objections of prospective customers.

• Stay informed about competing products and services.

• Upsell products and services.

• Research and qualify new leads.

• Close sales and achieve sales targets.

Requirements:

• Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and sales service skills.

• Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

• Excellent phone and cold calling skills.

• Active listening and adaptable sales skills.

• Proven ability to develop rapport, influence others and maintain strong working relationships.

• Attention to detail.

• Positive attitude and demonstrated ability to overcome rejection.

• This is a highly active, results-oriented position. Candidates should thrive on meeting and exceeding goals.

• Previous experience in an outbound call center or a related sales position preferred.

• BA/BS degree or equivalent four-year degree with a sales focus.
