Nurse Manager – GI GU Surgery Position Highlights Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth Core work hours: Monday – Friday 8:00a – 5:00p Key Responsibilities Operations – Plan, organize, and delegate activities for safe, efficient, effective operation of the unit; provide resources and guidance for evidence‑based practice; facilitate credentialing processes; identify throughput drivers and develop solutions. Quality Patient Care Outcomes – Plan and manage patient care processes to improve performance; ensure documentation meets hospital and credentialing standards; support change initiatives. Human Resources – Staff based on patient care needs; conduct performance reviews, corrective action, and new staff orientation; promote professional growth and team retention; facilitate unit‑based council. Customer Satisfaction – Integrate customer needs into operations and planning; promote team building and group process principles. Budget – Prepare operating and capital budgets; manage and adjust strategies to meet budget expectations; evaluate care requirements against budgetary guidelines. Professional Accountability – Participate in professional organization and hospital committees; stay current with professional activities; alert appropriate individuals on ethical and legal concerns; act as mentor; adhere to ANA Code of Ethics and Nurse Practice Act; engage with community activities; conduct 360‑degree evaluations and development planning. Education Bachelor's Degree in Nursing – Required Experience 3+ years registered nurse experience with charge nurse or similar leadership role – Required Experience in inpatient surgical environment – Preferred Supervisory or managerial experience – Preferred Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) – Required upon hire Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) – Required before independent patient care and maintained quarterly Skills Knowledge of industry standards, quality improvement, change management, financial analysis, budgeting, accreditation, regulatory standards, strategic planning, nursing care assessment, scope of practice, and regulatory requirements.
