About the Position

Schedule: Every other weekend required; patient ratio 4:1 at standard staffing, 5:1 when stretched; day and night shifts available

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit in a 44-bed specialty unit within an 815-bed flagship medical center
• Focus on neurology and trauma care with advanced procedures including chest tubes, PCA pumps, lumbar drains, and feeding tube placement
• EMR system: Cerner
• Equipment includes IV pumps, Skylifts, patient lifts, and specialized monitoring for neuro and spinal assessments
• Work alongside a collaborative team of 95 staff members in a Magnet-designated facility
• Float to stepdown and medical-surgical units as needed

Requirements:

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state license
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Progressive care or acute care nursing experience required
• Neurology and trauma care experience strongly preferred
• Experience with C-collar placement, TLSO braces, blood transfusions, and IV infusions preferred
