Position Overview
Express Employment Professionals in Waterloo is seeking an Assembly Technician to join a local manufacturing team. This position is responsible for assembling large industrial concrete paving and slip-forming machinery from blueprints and preparing completed equipment for shipment. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, comfortable working with large machinery, and experienced in a manufacturing or mechanical environment.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for assembling large industrial concrete paving and slip-forming machinery from blueprints and preparing completed equipment for shipment. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, comfortable working with large machinery, and experienced in a manufacturing or mechanical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and assembly specifications
- Assemble large industrial concrete paving and slip-forming machinery
- Install and position machine components according to specifications
- Utilize hoists and lifting equipment to safely maneuver large components
- Work alongside production team members to meet manufacturing timelines
- Inspect assemblies to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
- Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues as they arise
- Prepare completed machinery for shipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow all company safety and quality procedures
- Previous manufacturing, mechanical assembly, industrial production, fabrication, maintenance, or related mechanical experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable and safety-conscious
- Comfortable working with large industrial machinery and components
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and maneuver machine components
- Comfortable using hoists and other lifting equipment
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, and perform physically demanding assembly tasks
- Ability to safely work around large machinery and industrial equipment
- Monday-Friday, first-shift schedule
- Hands-on mechanical assembly position
