What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population, including newborn to geriatric patients.
• Manage all aspects of patient care, including IV starts, multitasking across systems, and continuous patient monitoring.
• Support patient stabilization with skills in cardiac and trauma care, stroke management, respiratory distress, and mental health.
• Collaborate with charge nurses, hospitalists, and ancillary staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Maintain accurate charting using Meditech Expanse EMR system and operate IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensers.
• Hold admitted patients in the ED and manage hall bed assignments with confidence.

What You Need

• Louisiana RN license (or eligibility to obtain)
• 2+ years recent ED experience in acute care settings
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, CPI/MOAB certifications
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam before start
• Strong multitasking, patient assessment, and communication skills
• Comfortable working in a traveler-friendly environment with a flexible schedule

About the Assignment

This shift-intensive assignment takes place in a busy, 21-bed Emergency Department known for its traveler-friendly culture. The unit handles an average of 85-95 patient visits daily, including trauma, cardiac, stroke, and psychiatric cases. The facility emphasizes a respectful, team-oriented environment with ample support from charge nurses, hospitalists, and ancillary staff to ensure your success. Two days of hospital orientation plus two days on the unit will prepare you for this fast-paced role. Weekend rotations, holiday work, and a structured schedule ensure consistent, predictable shifts.
