Before and After School - Group Leader

Group Leader: Before & After School Teacher Location: Tewksbury Elementary School, Tewksbury, MA Position Type: Part‑time Schedule: No weekends, Part‑time: 6:30‑8:30am and 3:00‑6:00pm (Monday‑Friday, both morning and afternoon sessions required) Pay & Benefits: $18.00/hour; part‑time benefits including health insurance; employee referral program (up to $150 per referral); deep discounts on program tuition; child‑care benefits for your own school‑age child. Responsibilities Lead a group of student explorers through exciting adventures in fitness, the arts, technology, and more. Work collaboratively with peers to ignite children's sense of wonder. Encourage creativity and intellectual curiosity by building on students' interests and talents. Provide a caring, family‑oriented environment that fosters positive relationships among staff, children, and parents. Qualifications High school diploma or GED; minimum age 18. Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needs (Monday‑Friday, both morning and afternoon sessions). Registration and full clearance from the state childcare licensing agency. Proof of experience in line with state childcare licensing regulations. Must be able to demonstrate experience through one of the following options: Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) or Associate’s Degree (AS/AA) in a related field. 1‑year state or nationally recognized credential related to school‑age care. Completion of 20 credits (semester system) or 30 credits (quarter system) of training at a college/university plus at least 1 year of qualifying teaching experience in a certified child‑care center or comparable group‑care program. 2 or more years of qualifying teaching experience, with at least one year as a teacher, in a certified child‑care center or comparable program. Additional Requirements At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred. High School/Trade School degree preferred. Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
