Maintenance Mechanic

Saint-Gobain Abrasives located in Worcester, MA is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic for 1st shift

• The First Shift work schedule is 6:00 am to 2:30 pm

• The hourly pay for this position will range from $31.93 to 39.76 per hour depending on skill level brought to the position.

• This position is also overtime eligible.

• Monthly bonus payments are variable depending on individual and plant KPIs.

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for:

• Troubleshooting,

• Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)

• Installation and repairs on all facilities, manufacturing and production equipment, drawing on knowledge that includes low voltage electrical, hydraulics, carpentry, fabrication, vacuum systems, machining, welding, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and/or other mechanical disciplines in order to maintain well functioning equipment.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) along with related trade school education, apprenticeship and/or experience.

• Previously demonstrated mechanical experience required, (i.e., understanding machinery, electrical, hydraulic equipment, properties of metals, welding, piper/plumbing, heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning) and an understanding of a general compliment of mechanics tools

• May require the ability to read and comprehend various diagrams, schematics and mechanical blueprints.

• Knowledge of trade mathematics and machinist handbook formulas in computing and verifying dimensions in the planning, lay-out, and final dimensional checking process.

• Certificates and Licenses: Trade or Vocational certification preferred.

• Other particular trade certifications or in-depth experience may be required depending on required work duties, (i.e., HVAC / EPA certifications, weights & measures technology).

• Fork truck license required

• This position requires 10-12 months' work experience to become proficient in all phases of the job to work

The hourly pay for this position will range from $31.93 to $39.76 per hour depending on skill level brought to the position. This is a first shift position so does not include a shift differential, however if ever required to work off shift, the shift differential for second shift is $1.50 and for third shift it is $2.00. This position is also overtime eligible. Monthly bonus payments are variable depending on individual and plant KPIs.
