The Junior Staff Accountant will play a key role within a small accounting team, supporting all accounting functions including account reconciliation, data entry, and month-end closing. Reporting directly to the Owner and Office Manager, this position involves the use of QuickBooks and Drake Tax Software to ensure accurate financial records. The role also includes preparing quarterly tax filings and handling personal and business income tax returns, requiring strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
- Enter financial data efficiently and accurately into accounting systems
- Manage the general ledger and assist with month-end closing processes
- Support quarterly tax filings and preparation of personal and business income tax returns
- Collaborate with the Owner and Office Manager to ensure compliance and timely reporting
- Utilize QuickBooks and Drake Tax Software for accounting and tax tasks
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in accounting
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an accounting focus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
- Effective communication abilities
- Excellent time management skills
