About the Role
The Company is seeking dedicated individuals to join its Connection Council, a cross-sector leadership body with a mission to safeguard and strengthen social connection and community. Council members will be responsible for intentionally building, measuring, and sustaining social connection across the city. This includes defining what connection means for the community, establishing shared metrics, and ensuring that business, government, nonprofits, and cultural institutions integrate connection into their core work. The role also involves creating pathways for residents to build relationships, especially during key life transitions, and championing social connection as a long-term civic priority. Members of the Connection Council are expected to serve as ambassadors for connection, influencing their peers and embedding the importance of social connection into the norms and practices of civic and institutional life. The commitment includes quarterly convenings, and the work is supported by the Company. The ideal candidates will be senior leaders from various sectors, including business, government, philanthropy, and community-building networks, who can dedicate time and effort to this vital cause. The Council operates with a strong sense of accountability, and members are encouraged to recommend successors to ensure continuity. The role is not just a position but a commitment to lead and advocate for social connection, with the ultimate goal of making it a core part of the city's civic infrastructure.
