Make a difference for students who thrive on personalized attention and support by leading a Life Skills Education – Intensive Services Program classroom for the 2026-27 school year. This contract position is perfect for an experienced Special Education Teacher passionate about providing highly individualized instruction and behavioral supports for students with significant intellectual and behavioral needs.
You will be working in an environment thoughtfully designed for success: each classroom serves only one to two students, staffed with a minimum of two highly trained adults at all times. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of instructional and behavioral planning, collaborating closely with both staff and families to achieve positive outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification/licensure
- Demonstrated experience with students who have significant intellectual, behavioral, social-emotional, and adaptive needs
- Strong foundation in developing and implementing individualized education and behavioral plans
- Commitment to evidence-based strategies and data-driven instruction
- Excellent communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Ability to provide references and submit a resume with up-to-date licensure details
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, specialized instruction and educational programming within a highly structured, self-contained classroom
- Oversee and implement intensive behavioral supports for student success
- Coordinate and supervise support staff, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment
- Collaborate with families and a multidisciplinary team to individualize programming and interventions
- Maintain detailed documentation and progress reporting
- Support and communicate about caseload needs and preferences
