Step into a dynamic and supportive educational environment, making a real impact as a Special Education Teacher working within a Life Skills Education - Intensive Services Program. This opportunity is contract-based and full-time for the 2026-27 school year. Focusing on children who benefit from highly individualized support, you will serve as the instructional and behavioral leader in a uniquely structured classroom, working closely with just one or two students, ensuring each receives the intensive assistance they need to thrive. Your expertise will drive positive change, foster growth, and influence student success in profound ways.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching license
- Strong background in life skills education and behavioral interventions
- Experience with students with significant intellectual, behavioral, social-emotional, communication, adaptive, and/or mental health challenges
- Proven leadership skills to coordinate staff, instructional programming, and student behavior plans
- Exceptional communication abilities to engage with families and a multidisciplinary support team
- Commitment to promoting inclusive, supportive, and structured learning environments
Essential Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and specialized educational programming for each student
- Lead and supervise a classroom team, ensuring a minimum of two adults are present at all times
- Implement and continuously adapt individualized behavioral supports and life skills instruction
- Collaborate with families, support staff, and various professionals to enhance student outcomes
- Maintain thorough documentation and ensure all interventions and plans meet established guidelines
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and empowering classroom atmosphere
