FT Assistant Manager Deli - 6518

Primary Purpose The primary purpose of this role is to enter orders, schedule work and production, supervise and train team members, receive, store, and stock items, check dates, adjust pricing for items out of code, and perform all department tasks as needed to ensure smooth operation of the store. Responsibilities Review the work schedule, equipment, and supplies at the start of each shift. Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and prepare for duties. Perform markdowns and track loss. Operate all equipment associated with the deli, carryout, café, and cheese sections. Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, tools, equipment, display cases, floors, and counters. Make sandwiches, subs, and wraps according to standard operating procedures, label them, and place them in the display case. Prepare pizza per SOP, use the turbo oven, remove, cut, package, and deliver to customers. Assist customers and prepare deli items by cutting, slicing, portioning, weighing, and labeling. Produce items for the grab‑and‑go self‑serve case. Manage chicken processing: carry to worktable, place on roasting racks, roast, wrap, and label. Clean the roaster, dump oil, and dispose of oil in the rendering bin. Process chicken parts for frying: dip in batter, fill fryer basket, fry, wrap, and label. Maintain oil levels, clean the fryer, and clean specified equipment every four hours. Operate the U‑boat to receiving, load cartons, unload, and store goods and supplies. Identify and follow SOP for Marking Flashfood donations. Use cleaning implements and sanitizers to maintain cleanliness of equipment, cases, floors, and counters. Prepare and stock all products in department sales floor cases. Track and record loss using known loss tracking (KLT). Record temperature charts, sanitation logs, production planning, and other record‑keeping functions. Organize the sales floor cooler and freezer. Plan the weekly Circular ad. Report all accidents and file incident reports to the supervisor within 24 hours. Use a First Aid kit for all injuries. Follow instructions and ask questions whenever in doubt. Report unsafe conditions to the supervisor, follow company policy for apparel and footwear, and maintain a safe work environment. Adhere to proper lifting procedures and keep floors and work areas clear. Never leave running machinery unattended and follow lockout/tagout and confined space procedures. Maintain knowledge of MSDS information for all materials and complete required safety training courses. Qualifications Authorized to work in the U.S. Ability to communicate and understand company policies and safety regulations. Must earn a food safety certification every five years and instruct new team members on its importance. Meet the ergonomic and physical requirements for the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Pass the company performance standards, including regular attendance. Ability to use or learn to use the equipment and tools required for the job. Physical Requirements Minimum 4‑hour shifts or longer as required. Continual max job cycles. Lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Stand 55%, sit 0%, walk 45% of shift time. Category IV lifting, carrying, and pulling/pushing up to 55 lbs. Maximum static pull of 20 lbs.
