Trauma Charge Nurse Team Lead - $35-50 per hour

Position Registered Nurse (RN) Trauma Lead – Valley Park, Missouri Overview Specialty: Trauma Discipline: RN Duration: Ongoing Employment Type: Staff Responsibilities Facilitates identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization, at discharge, and into the ambulatory care setting. Critically assesses patient data to proactively mitigate impending changes in condition and establishes consults to the interprofessional team as appropriate. Leads the development and implementation of complex individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and the patient, family, or caregiver in accordance with established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Plans of care reflect application of expert holistic clinical knowledge and skill to anticipate and prioritize complex care needs, anticipate barriers, incorporate interprofessional team and caregiver/family input, and identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes. Actively utilizes and champions scientific inquiry for evidence‑based practices, such as participating in journal club, facilitating practice change based on new knowledge, recommending new standards of care or revisions to current standards, conducting a literature search to support unit or organizational goals, and disseminating new knowledge obtained from relevant conferences or continuing education. Explores opportunities to advance nursing practice, such as supporting a community service health event as a representative of the healthcare profession, leading patient/family education groups, serving on a community advisory board or ethics advisory committee, or serving as adjunct faculty or leadership board member in a specialty organization. Analyzes gaps in practice standards and provides feedback to peers in collaboration with leadership to enhance safe patient care. Leads the evaluation of the patient and family experience, and adjusts care provided to improve patient satisfaction and quality of care. Acts as a safety‑sensitive leader with constant state of alertness and safe performance. Qualifications Minimum requirements: 2‑5 years nursing experience (preferably inpatient), RN licensure, no supervisor experience required. Shift requirement: three 12‑hour night shifts. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, 5‑10 years experience. BSN highly preferred due to Magnet Status. Applicable for external candidates: sign‑on bonus of $15,000.
