Charge Nurse Team Lead, General Medicine - $36-58 per hour

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Med Surg Charge Nurse (RN) for a nursing job in Valley Park, Missouri. Team Lead Charge – General Medicine; 3/12 hour shifts—days, no weekend obligation, 2 holidays per year, bonus eligible, comprehensive benefits. Overview Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment known for outstanding patient care. The facility includes 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, and is set amid a park-like environment with a walking path that connects to Millennium Park. Responsibilities Facilitates identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization, at discharge, and into the ambulatory care setting. Critically assesses patient data to proactively mitigate impending changes in condition and establishes consults to interprofessional team as appropriate. Leads the development and implementation of complex individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and the patient, family, or caregiver in accordance with established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Plans of care reflect application of expert holistic clinical knowledge and skill to anticipate and prioritize complex care needs, anticipate barriers, incorporating interprofessional team and caregiver/family input, and identifies opportunities to improve patient outcomes. Actively utilizes and champions scientific inquiry for evidence-based practices, participates in journal club, facilitates practice change, recommends new standards of care, conducts literature searches, disseminates new knowledge from conferences or continuing education, explores opportunities to advance nursing practice. Analyzes gaps in practice standards and provides feedback to peers in collaboration with leadership to enhance safe patient care. Leads the evaluation of the patient and family experience, adjust care to improve patient satisfaction and quality of care. Demonstrates ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safety‑sensitive position. Minimum Requirements Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing. Experience: 2‑5 years of nursing experience. No supervisor experience required. License & Certification: Registered Nurse (RN). Preferred Requirements Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
