Coyote Point Marina Park Aide - Extra Help

San Mateo County Parks Department is recruiting for a Seasonal Park Aide to work primarily at Coyote Point Marina . The Park Aide will perform routine park duties such as cleaning restrooms, litter pick‑up, landscape maintenance, weed control, line trimming, debris removal and general facilities maintenance. The Park Aide will also perform dock repairs and assist marina staff with emergency response aboard the Harbor Patrol boat, periodically staff the marina office, interact with boat owners, sell fuel and ice, and accept rent payments. The position requires working weekends, holidays and some flexibility with hours. It may also require driving to different marina locations and handling power‑driven tools and machines. Candidates must have a valid California driver’s license (or equivalent), be at least 18 years old at the date of hire (FLSA restrictions), and be able to swim unaided in open water. Qualifications Knowledge of: Policies, procedures and safety regulations related to the park location to which the applicant is assigned Safety hazards and equipment related to park environments Driving and operating automobiles, light trucks, safety equipment and other motorized equipment safely Communicating effectively orally and in writing Landscaping and ground maintenance practices including pruning, lawn and plant care Skill/Ability to: Maintain cleanliness of park facilities Use hand, electric and pneumatic power tools Perform light construction, repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment Perform clerical tasks including keeping accurate records, making simple arithmetic calculations, handling cash and filing Follow oral and written instructions including safety rules, procedures and practices Work courteously and effectively with the public, co‑workers and volunteers Operate motor vehicles and other equipment Stand, walk and bend for extended periods of time Lifting items weighing up to 60 pounds Application/Examination This is an extra‑help recruitment.
