Job Description

The VDC Project Coordinator I will lead VDC functions for the team on all projects, as well as coordinate with clients and sub-consultants on VDC standards. This person will work closely with CRB project discipline leads and the VDC Regional Manager on internal VDC standardization. Projects will consist of both existing building renovations and new construction. Project sizes will vary and require documentation for various disciplines including but not limited to Architecture, Electrical, Fire Protection, HVAC, Piping (Mechanical, Process, Plumbing) and Structural. This person should also have a passion for VDC innovations and emerging technologies in the AEC industry.

Responsibilities

• Perform VDC functions for the team on all projects, and coordinate with clients and sub-consultants on VDC standards
• Setup, manage, and maintain digital delivery platforms, project models, and associated documentation
• Support multidisciplinary model review meetings throughout the project lifecycle
• Assist with training, implementation, and support of VDC tools and processes for the project team
• Work with the project teams to determine the appropriate drawing scale(s), sheet layouts for each discipline, and establish building breakdown and match lines for floor plans where applicable
• Monitor and audit project VDC standard compliance
• Assist project team with identifying conflicts, incomplete or ambiguous design deliverables
• Assist project team with converting vendor equipment into Revit.
• Assist in assembly, review, and transmittal of all drawings for package issues
• Develop and maintain positive customer/client relationships
• Participate in VDC related webinars and conferences to stay informed and share opportunities for technology innovation within the organization

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates degree in Computer Aided Design, or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or completion of Construction Management Certificate Program, or equivalent
• Minimum of two years of experience in an EPC firm setting or construction industry equivalency

 

Additional Qualifications

• Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other design authoring platforms is required
• Knowledge of contractual delivery methods for design and construction projects
• Knowledge of supporting VDC productivity tools is preferred (Revit add-ins, Dynamo, Bluebeam, etc.)
• Experience with 3D collaboration processes and tools is preferred (BIM360/ACC suite, Assemble, clash tracking, laser scanning, iConstruct, model-based point layout, AR/VR)
• Knowledge of industry standard VDC documentation is preferred (BEP, BIMForum, etc.)
• Demonstrates good organizational and communication skills
• Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D is preferred
• Understanding of building design and construction sequencing is preferred
• Ability to travel to construction project sites
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
