Job Summary and Responsibilities Engages in laboratory, translational, or clinical research under the direction and guidance of a faculty member, developing skills necessary for success as an independent investigator. Essential Functions Aspires to excellence in work quality and quantity. Demonstrates capabilities to produce quality original research or clinical care. Attains research goals. Shows growth technically and intellectually. Develops skills in a research and/or clinical specialty. Contributes to mentor-directed research. Brings added value to the collective skill set in the mentor's group. Contributes to teaching and guidance of more junior trainees. Demonstrates potential to launch an extramurally-funded research program. Produces material for publication and/or grant applications. Develops problem solving skills in technical and conceptual components of project execution. Learns to be astute and self-critical in project design, data analysis, and results interpretation. Develops well-defined objectives and maintains and expands knowledge on general advances in science and medicine and on progress in his/her specific field. Attends and actively participates as a discussant at seminar series presentations and at regional/national scientific/clinical meetings, and presents work results and journal club articles in the mentor's research setting. Job Requirements Ph.D., Postbaccalaureate M.D. or D.Sc. degree or equivalent in a relevant field of endeavor required. Laboratory or clinical research at the postbaccalaureate level with an interest in a faculty member's line of study required. Beyond minimum required, experience writing research reports concerning own work and familiarity with a biomedical discipline. Pay Range $20.91 - $29.54 /hour #J-18808-Ljbffr CommonSpirit Health
