Modeling Solutions Engineer Employer: AES Clean Energy Services, LLC Location: New York, NY (100% remote work allowed, up to 20% travel for in-person meetings/site visits) Responsibilities Develop theoretical models of renewable energy systems based on physics, chemistry, and engineering principles. Translate domain‑specific calculations into Python code and integrate them into the cloud‑based modeling platform. Validate and communicate results to stakeholders. Maintain Python‑based modeling tools within the integrated platform. Write and maintain documentation and user guides. Train and assist users on supported models and tools. Assist in economic optimization of engineering designs and provide design direction for non‑standard projects. Assist on data analysis and data science projects. Qualifications Master’s degree in engineering, physics, or a related field. Experience with renewable energy technologies: Solar PV, Wind, Li‑Ion batteries. Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, or R with power flow modeling. Knowledge of DC circuits, AC circuits, power conversion systems. Skills in data analysis, validation, and presentation (cleaning, correlation, linear regression, visualization). Technical writing experience (documentation, reports, white papers). Experience with green H2, non‑Li‑Ion BESS, ESS beyond batteries, Geothermal, concentrated solar power, thermal energy storage, microgrids. Experience gained through work, coursework, or academic pursuit. Salary and Compensation Base salary: $120,350 – $148,325 per year (may vary based on market location, experience, and other factors).
