Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantThis role is located on site, 5 days a week, at our office facility in Lodi, New Jersey.Help strengthen the financial foundation behind our businessCFS Brands is looking for a detail-oriented staff accountant who enjoys digging into the numbers, keeping financial records accurate, and helping the business understand what's behind the results. In this role, you'll support key accounting activities across reconciliations, inventory, tax, audits, and financial analysis while working closely with the broader finance team.What You Will Do:As the staff accountant, you will support accurate financial reporting through the following essential functions:Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations.Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations.Perform monthly balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.Complete and file monthly/quarterly sales tax filings with the appropriate jurisdictions.Reconcile inventory on-hand & in-transit schedules consisting of vendor, freight, customs, & broker bills.Analyze inventory excess & obsolescence (E&O) reserve, bad debt reserve, & rebate/commissions true-ups.Respond to information requests and assist with financial statement audit, sales tax audits, & 401k audits.Complete margin, variance, trend, & ad hoc analyses.On-site presence Monday – Friday in our office facility in Lodi, NJ.What Makes You Successful:You bring a solid understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.You're comfortable working with detailed financial data, investigating discrepancies, and identifying the story behind the numbers.You're organized, detail-oriented, and take pride in producing accurate work while managing multiple deadlines and priorities.You build strong working relationships across teams, communicate clearly, and partner with others to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and keep financial processes moving forward.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with 2 years of related working experience.Knowledge of accounts receivable and general accounting procedures.Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.Proficient in data entry MS Office Suite and other accounting software.Proficient in Microsoft Excel (V-lookups, X-lookups and pivot tables).Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritizes multiple tasks.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Benefits Include:Medical, dental, and visionHealth savings account (HSA)401(k) employer matchingPaid time offEmployment assistance programEmployee discount programAbout CFS Brands: Headquarters located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, CFS BRANDS is a market-leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of commercial foodservice, healthcare, and industrial hygiene products.CFS Brands is committed to creating an inclusive work environment with a diverse workforce.
