We are seeking an experienced Release Manager / Delivery Manager with a strong background in Java Application Development to lead software release planning, delivery execution, and cross‑functional coordination across multiple projects. The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience as a Java Developer earlier in their career and possess a solid understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, release governance, and stakeholder management. This role requires balancing technical expertise with project delivery responsibilities to ensure high‑quality software releases are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. Additional Information* The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Dallas, TX is $110k - $120k/year & benefits (see below). The Role Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, schedule, and manage software releases across multiple applications and environments. Develop and maintain release calendars and deployment schedules. Ensure release readiness through comprehensive planning, risk assessment, and dependency management. Coordinate production deployments, rollback strategies, and post-release validation activities. Maintain release governance processes and change management controls. Track delivery milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies across teams. Ensure timely delivery of project commitments while maintaining quality standards. Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Development, QA, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams. Work closely with architecture and engineering teams to improve application performance and stability. Communicate release status, risks, and delivery metrics to senior leadership. Prepare executive‑level reports, release summaries, and project dashboards. Facilitate decision‑making by providing data‑driven delivery insights. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in release and deployment processes. Implement and optimize CI/CD practices. Define and monitor KPIs related to release success, delivery timelines, and application quality. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of IT experience, including Release Management, Delivery Management, Program Management, or Project Management roles and past experience as a Java Application Developer. Strong understanding of Java/J2EE‑based enterprise applications. Experience with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall project methodologies. Experience managing enterprise‑level software releases. Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Preferred Qualifications PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe Agilist, Scrum Master, or ITIL certification. Experience managing globally distributed teams. Background in financial services, healthcare, retail, telecom, or enterprise application environments. Experience leading large‑scale digital transformation or cloud migration projects.
