At S&ME, we are committed to ensuring everything is "built right," and we take that responsibility very seriously. You'll also have the chance to earn additional certifications, which will help you advance in your career, take on more complex testing tasks, assume greater responsibilities, and mentor junior technicians.Project and Document Review: Understand project requirements before fieldwork; accurately record observations and test results related to construction materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and other pertinent materials.Metafield ® Utilization: Efficiently manage data using field and laboratory information systems.Equipment Maintenance: Ensure field and lab tools are accurate and meet industry standards.Inspection Monitoring: Follow International Building Code (IBC) standards for testing and inspecting construction materials.Stakeholder Communication: Interact with management, contractors, and clients to report project progress and resolve any issues.Experience shifting work hours based on project needs and weather conditions, including early mornings, some Saturdays, and overtime (paid at time and a half).About You:You have a High School diploma/GEDYou have a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction testing/inspecting soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materialsYou have active industry certifications:American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory TechnicianInternational Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils)You have effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English languageYou have good math skills with a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measureYou understand a fluctuating schedule and have an interest in frequent travelYou Are Willing and Able to:Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:Working the majority of the time outdoors in varying weather conditionsWalking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a dayRoutinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sitesGrow With Us:At S&ME, your career growth matters.
