Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health needs and formulate detailed treatment plans.

• Utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused brief therapy, to address complex mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief/loss.

• Implement short-term counseling sessions to assist patients in managing their emotional and psychological challenges effectively.
\n
• Provide case management support for clients participating in treatment, ensuring they receive the resources necessary for their recovery.
\n
• Participate in crisis intervention efforts, perform assessments, de-escalation, and collaborate with public mental health crisis response teams as required.

• Engage with multidisciplinary teams to develop follow-up assessments and prevention plans, liaising with external agencies to ensure continuity of care.

• Offer consultation and training on psychosocial aspects of human behavior to enhance team understanding and response to client needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Mental Health Counselor will work primarily with a diverse patient population, including individuals experiencing various mental health challenges ranging from mild to severe. You will support clients dealing with issues such as addiction, domestic violence, behavioral health concerns, and psychosocial stressors, enhancing their quality of life through effective therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related mental health field is required.

• Current clinical licensure in California as one of the following: LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist), or LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor).

• A minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant clinical experience in mental health counseling is essential.
