Senior Sterile Processing Tech SMMC Sterile Process

This position will be working primarily independently. Strong critical thinking and communication skills are required. All experience requirements are hard stops. Specifically, five years of experience is required, with three of those years in a shift lead, precepting, or team lead experience in a hospital setting. No first-time travelers are allowed. Variable availability is required, but this position will mostly cover 1900-0330 and 2130-0600 shifts. On-call is required, with weekends potentially exceeding every other to accommodate unit needs. Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered.

The shifts are variable and are the following: 0500-1300, 0700-1530, 1000-1800, 1900-0330, and 2130-0600. On-call shifts are the following: 2200-0700 weekdays, 0700-1900 weekends/holidays, and 0700-0700 weekends/holidays. All call is split within the department as fairly as possible.

Certifications required: BLS, CBSPD or HSPA. Locals accepted within a 50-mile radius. Reach out to AM for local rate. RTO must be included at time of submission. Other requirements include experience with Da Vinci Xi, Getinge Autoclave, Amsco Autoclave, Steris V-Pro, Steris System 1e, Getinge 86 series washer, and Triton 72 ultrasonic cleaner.

Hospital highlights include: Type of facility is an acute care hospital with 212 staffed beds. Scrub color is navy blue for RNs and provided for L&D/OR. Charting is done using Epic. Parking is free.
