Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience.

Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level. Qualifying experience involved performing at least two or more of the following types of duties: providing administrative support services in areas such as budget, space management, security, purchasing supplies and equipment, contract administration, property management, mail, records, office automation, information management and communications hardware and software.

Education: Possess a Bachelor's Degree or expect to complete the requirements for a Bachelor's degree within the next 9 months AND possess at least one of the following criteria: class standing in the upper third of the graduating class; an overall GPA of 3.0 OR at least a 3.0 based on courses completed during the final two years of my curriculum; a GPA of at least 3.5 based on the average of required courses completed in my major field OR based on the average of required courses completed during the final two years of my curriculum; OR election to membership in a national scholastic honor society or

Possess one full year of graduate education in a closely related field (e.g., Accounting, Financial Management, Public Administration, Business Administration). Education should be obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.

Combining Education and Experience: A combination of specialized experience as described in A and graduate education as described in B which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. (Only graduate education in excess of 1 full year is creditable. To calculate your percentage of education, first determine the total number of hours that exceed 18 semester hours or your school's definition of one full year of study. Then divide the total number of your excess semester hours by 18 or your school's definition of one year of study. To calculate your percentage of qualifying experience, divide your total number of months of qualifying experience by 12. Now, add the two percentages together. The sum of the percentages must equal at least 100%. For example, if you had if you had 9 months of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6, then you would have 75% of the required experience. If you also had 27 semester hours of creditable graduate level education, then 27-18=9 semester hours. 9 divided by 18 is 50% of the required education, and therefore, 75% + 50% = 125%. You would qualify for this position).
