SMG seeks a Safety Advisor – Construction in Caledonia, Michigan – Day Shift - Per diem is available The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in a construction environment on a data center site with a GC doing a lot of civil work. This person will be working 5 days a week. 10 hours per day. Overview of Job Responsibilities Site safety observations, including documentation of findings Oversee civil contractor Must be able to create reports, run safety metrics, and use other software programs Conduct Job Hazard Analysis Represent the contractor in progress meetings Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law, the Owner, and contractors Conduct New Hire Orientations and safety meetings Provides incident management and support Documentation and Report preparation Conducts Contractor program reviews Requirements Seven plus years of construction safety experience BSCP Cert - CHST or higher Seven (7) years mission critical construction safety experience with CSP or CHST certification, OR Ten (10) years progressive field safety experience on mission critical projects A degree in safety or related fields is preferred First-aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association OSHA 30-hr Construction Physical Demands of the job may include Moving about long distances Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period Working in extreme weather Being exposed to loud noises Wearing personal protective gear correctly Join an elite group of Safety Professionals!
