Job Title: Senior QA Specialist, Software Quality Assurance/Functional Tester

Location: Washington, DC (Onsite)

Duration: Long term contract

About the job: Client needs a Senior Software QA/Functional Tester to design and run test plans and automated functional test scripts, cover functional/integration/end-to-end testing across web, mobile, and portal platforms, support major releases, and provide production support and quality reporting.

What you ll do:

• Design and implement test plans, test cases, and automated functional test scripts to meet quality-control standards.
• Develop and maintain functional and regression tests; apply test methodology and product knowledge to test design and strategy.
• Execute all types of testing (functional, integration, end-to-end) across platforms (mobile, web, portal frameworks) and browsers.
• Support testing of multiple major releases with the development team and vendors; monitor testing activities and deliverables.
• Provide production support by investigating and recreating reported defects; help prioritize defect fixes to business needs.
• Create testing summary reports and communicate results clearly to management.

What you need:

• Bachelor of Science degree (IT or related field, or equivalent experience).
• Software quality assurance and test-planning experience (QA plans, test plans and procedures).
• Automated test design and execution with HP QTP/UFT, TestComplete, or Selenium.
• HP Quality Center/ALM for test-case writing and defect management.
• Leading functional and automated testing efforts, including UI and regression testing.
• Advanced SQL query writing and good understanding of Oracle 11g or 12c.
• SDLC experience (Agile and Waterfall preferred); strong communication and analytical skills.

Required Skills:

• Test planning and QA plan development to quality-control standards.
• Automated functional and regression test design and execution (HP QTP/UFT, TestComplete, Selenium).
• Test management and defect tracking with HP Quality Center/ALM.
• Functional, integration, and end-to-end testing across web, mobile, and portal platforms and browsers.
• SQL query writing and Oracle 11g/12c database validation.
• Requirements traceability, test-case review, and coverage assurance.
• Defect triage, production support, and quality-metrics reporting.
