Job Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations for diverse patients including infants, adults, and seniors, utilizing both standardized tools and observation techniques.
- Create tailored treatment plans targeting immediate and long-lasting communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Offer individualized speech therapy sessions aimed at improving skills in communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Partner with interdisciplinary teams-including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers-to establish comprehensive care approaches.
- Provide education for patients and families to support progress beyond the therapy sessions.
- Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy, ensuring seamless care throughout the therapeutic journey.
- Document case updates accurately and promptly in compliance with state, federal, and organizational protocols.
- Commit to continual learning to stay abreast of advancements in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification has not yet been obtained.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred possession of the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based approaches to therapy for all age groups, alongside a robust grasp of both developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Adept at modifying therapy practices to address diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical insight and problem-solving capabilities.
- Comfortable navigating electronic medical record systems and adherence to documentation standards.
