Job Summary
The Center for Campus Wellness ( CCW ) is a confidential and comprehensive wellness office that provides wellness education, trainings and workshops; victim-survivor advocacy services and support; safer sex services for students; alcohol and other drug support services; wellness coaching; basic needs support; resource navigation; and student involvement opportunities.
Job Summary
This office seeks a Manager of the Basic Needs Collective who will also carry a client caseload in a case manager capacity. Committed to taking a holistic approach to support and empower students, faculty and staff who have or are experiencing various types of basic needs insecurity. This position will be responsible for:
Operational Leadership (30%): Provides day‑to‑day management and oversight of the Basic Needs Collective program operations .
Direct Services (15%): Provide direct basic needs student service support case management
Staff Supervision & Development (20%): Leads, supervises, and supports professional staff delivering basic needs support services.
Program Coordination & Delivery (10%): Ensures consistent, high‑quality implementation of client work, programming service protocols.
Assessment, Data, & Reporting (10%): Supports data collection, evaluation processes, and impact reporting to guide program improvement and demonstrate outcomes.
Campus Partnerships & Collaboration (10%): Serves as an operational liaison to campus partners to coordinate services, trainings, and shared basic needs support goals.
Other directives as assigned (5%)
The Basic Needs Collective program is managed by the Center for Campus Wellness and is designed to provide comprehensive basic needs support and assistance to students and staff. This program provides case management support to help students and staff learn about and connect with campus and community resources to help them meet their basic needs. Supporting basic needs increases retention rates and supports students to graduate. The program also plays a crucial role in providing low barrier, self-serve access to wellness resources, promoting a campus culture that prioritizes accessibility, stability, and holistic wellbeing.
The successful candidate will be an active participant in serving the mission of the Center for Campus Wellness through campus and community education, advocacy, outreach, and unique events. We seek applicants who are committed to creating and implementing accessible programs and services to our university campus. Applicants should be committed to working with a robust campus community whose experiences, backgrounds and perspectives may be different from their own for the success of all students.
This position will report directly to the Associate Director of Advocacy Services.

CCW is an office located within the Student Affairs division. Student Affairs is comprised of over 20 departments and is focused on supporting student well-being and success with the goal of assisting students in discovering their passion, people, and purpose. This position frequently addresses problematic situations and often acts as a mediator or a negotiator. A major task for this position is to understand the needs of the campus community and determine what products and services should be provided to meet those needs.
Comments
The incumbent must be proficient in making daily operational decisions in the assigned area to ensure compliance with current regulations and guidelines.
Responsibilities
Manage daily operations of Basic Needs Collective programming, including client appointments, Wellness Exchange services, emergency funding, and programmatic processes.
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate professional staff and student employees, providing coaching, accountability, and performance feedback.
Foster a supportive team culture that prioritizes professional development, wellness, and sustainable workload practices.
Coordinate and support hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling of student staff and interns.
Oversee workflow, staffing coverage, and logistics across program areas and satellite service locations.
Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures, service protocols, and documentation processes.
Monitor program utilization and identify opportunities to improve accessibility, efficiency, and effectiveness of services.
Oversee purchasing and inventory management to maintain program resources and supplies.
Collaborate with campus and community partners to support coordinated programming and service delivery.
Support program evaluation through data collection, tracking, and analysis; contribute to midyear and annual reports summarizing program utilization, reach, trends, and impact.
Maintain case notes using a secure EHR platform (Medicat) and other documentation systems in compliance with FERPA and university policies.
Utilize working knowledge of Medicat to monitor data integrity and reporting trends; identify gaps in data collection, implement adjustments to BNC Medicat clinic workflows, and collaborate with team members to ensure accurate, consistent documentation and meaningful data capture aligned with program goals and compliance standards.
Ensure programs operate using evidence-informed, student-centered approaches and comply with university, state, and federal policies.
Stay informed on emerging best practices by researching basic needs programs at peer institutions, reviewing current research, and engaging in ongoing training or professional development.
Lead development of program budgets, including forecasting, resource allocation, and aligning financial planning with program goals and operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related area of assignment or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for one year of related work experience) and 4 – 6 years of progressively more responsible management experience.
Background knowledge or experience in higher education, basic needs programming and public benefits programs.
Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop direct reporting staff and to ensure the smooth operation of department.
Completion of provided supervisory training within one year of employment may be required. Utah State Certified Victim Advocate (40 Hour Trained) or completion within 2 months of hire. Excellent writing and professional speaking skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with students and administrators on sensitive topics.
Preferences
Experience working in basic needs, social services, higher education, or related fields supporting individuals experiencing resource insecurity
Demonstrated ability to manage programs or services with multiple components (e.g., food access, emergency aid, resource navigation, or distribution models)
