Workday People Technology Sr Manager - Core HCM, Benefits & Security

Role Description

The People Technology Senior Manager – Core HCM, Benefits & Security serves as the strategic domain owner for Workday Core HCM, Benefits, and Security at HealthEquity. This role is responsible for:

• Design, integrity, and long-term evolution of foundational Workday configuration.
• Protecting the operational and architectural coherence of the broader platform as Workday expands across the enterprise.
• Functioning as the senior-most technical authority for foundational Workday design decisions.
• Ensuring scalability, governability, and sustainability of worker data structures, business processes, security models, and organizational frameworks.
• Bringing deep enterprise-level Workday expertise into implementation and operational decision-making.
• Identifying downstream impacts, architectural risks, and long-term maintenance concerns proactively.
• Partnering closely with various teams to support operational needs and future organizational evolution.
• Influencing platform direction through expertise, judgment, and systems thinking.
• Maintaining platform stability, architectural integrity, scalable governance, and security readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business, or a related field.
• 8+ years experience owning and evolving Workday Core HCM architecture in complex enterprise environments.
• 4+ years experience designing and governing Workday Security architecture.
• Experience partnering with executive stakeholders, implementation partners, and cross-functional enterprise teams.

Requirements

• Advanced understanding of Workday Core HCM architecture, worker data structures, and organizational frameworks.
• Deep expertise in Workday Security architecture and governance.
• Strong architectural and systems-thinking mindset.
• Ability to identify and articulate downstream impacts and governance risks.
• Experience balancing platform flexibility, operational usability, governance rigor, and security requirements.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
