Employee Relations Specialist

HR Employee Relations Specialist (Temporary) LHH is looking for an Employee Relations Specialist for our client, a Non Profit Organization here in Queens, NY. This temporary role will be conducting objective and comprehensive reviews of workplace concerns, including allegations of harassment, discrimination, and policy breaches. 100% on‑site, in person. Responsibilities Oversee the full lifecycle of employee relations investigations, including complaints related to misconduct, grievances, workplace bullying, and hostile work environment claims. Information Gathering Interview complainants, subjects, and witnesses while collecting and reviewing relevant materials such as emails, records, and other supporting evidence. Documentation & Reporting Develop clear, structured reports outlining investigative findings, supporting evidence, and any confirmed policy violations. Regulatory Compliance Ensure all investigative processes align with internal policies as well as applicable state and federal employment laws. Actionable Guidance Offer recommendations for appropriate next steps, including corrective measures or disciplinary actions, based on investigation results. Stakeholder Communication Act as a neutral liaison, maintaining confidentiality while collaborating with HR partners, leadership, and legal counsel. Typical Qualifications Experience Approximately 3–5+ years in human resources, employee relations, legal environments, or investigative roles. Education Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline; advanced legal education (e.g., JD) may be preferred for more complex cases. Skill Set Strong interviewing, analytical thinking, and writing abilities, combined with a solid understanding of employment law and high emotional intelligence.
