If you've wanted to build a finance function rather than inherit one, this is your seat. Concord Capital is an entrepreneurial real estate investment firm in growth mode, and we're looking for a finance leader who can run property accounting hands-on, lead and develop a team, and grow with us into Controller and beyond.

This isn't a back-office accounting job. You'll work side by side with our CFO, sit at the center of every acquisition, construction draw, refinance, and investor report, and help shape how Concord's finance platform scales from here.

THE ROLE

As Manager, Real Estate Finance, you'll own the numbers for our entire portfolio and lead the people who produce them. You'll own AppFolio as our system of record and be accountable for every property being accurately and completely accounted for - clean ledgers, reconciled balance sheets, current debt service, and financial statements that ownership, lenders, and third-party owners can rely on.

It's a player-coach seat. You'll be in the transactions, not just reviewing them, while setting the standard for the team, reviewing their work, and training them to get better every month. Whoever takes this role will learn the real estate business faster than almost anyone in the building.

The growth path is real. As we acquire and take on more third-party management, you build and lead the team behind it. As we build out corporate accounting, this is the natural path to Controller - corporate close, consolidations, treasury, and lender and investor reporting. We are building the finance function, not backfilling it.

You'll report directly to the CFO and lead our bookkeeper/AP clerk from day one, with the team growing as the portfolio does.

WHAT YOU'LL LEAD

Property Accounting - Close every property on time each month in AppFolio, with reconciled accounts, rent rolls that hold up to scrutiny, and debt service, escrows, and reserves tied to lender statements.

People & Team - Lead, train, and develop the accounting team. Set the close calendar and review standards, coach through the work, and help hire as we grow.

Cash & Treasury - Keep every property funded - forecast needs, sequence payments, work directly with owners on funding requests, and manage the bank environment across operating, trust, reserve, and escrow accounts.

Operations & AP - Oversee resident accounting, accounts payable, and job-level accounting and profitability for our in-house maintenance company.

Administration & Risk - Keep insurance, COIs, property taxes, and statutory filings current with no lapses. Support the corporate close, intercompany allocations, and year-end work with our CFO and outside CPAs.

Process & AI - Write the procedures that don't exist yet, automate the manual work, and use AI daily as part of how the work gets done - reviewing every output critically, because you own the number, not the tool.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

•  Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA not required

•  5+ years of accounting experience, including full-cycle close: journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation

•  Experience supervising, training, or reviewing the work of others - and enjoying it

•  Strong Excel skills - pivot tables, lookups, and cleaning large data sets

•  Experience with AppFolio and QuickBooks is a plus

•  Real estate, property management, or construction accounting experience is a plus, not a requirement - we'll teach the industry to the right person

•  Comfortable using AI tools daily and able to validate output rather than take it at face value
