Mechanical EngineerLocation: Redmond, WADuration: 12+ monthsDuties:Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to design, manufacture, and assemble prototypes of soft wearable electronic devicesApply sound engineering and design principles for manufacturing of injection molded components, soft electronic components, and novel sensor integrations in wearable electronicsCommunicate with vendors on DFM and Manufacturing of designs for prototype buildsCollaborate with researchers and engineers to rapidly prototype hardware solutions, iterate, and run experimentsSkills:Must Haves:BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience4+ years of experience in designing hardware prototypes, preferably in wearable consumer electronics, or a similar fieldKnowledge of the design process from concept to manufacturingAverage or higher experience with CAD modeling [Siemens NX preferred]Physical prototyping experienceDemonstrated experience with Design for injection molding, liquid silicone rubber, 3D printingNice to Haves:Knowledge of sensorsExperience developing wearable consumer electronicsExperience designing with softgoods or textilesHands-on prototyping with molding and casting of elastomers or industrial processes such as Liquid Injection MoldingExperience collaborating and communicating effectively on multi-disciplinary teamsExperience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
