Administrative Assistant I
The Administrative Assistant I (Business, Engineering and Information Technology Division) acts as a liaison between office staff and Stark State College students, external and internal stakeholders, has excellent customer service and provides support to coworkers. Typical Hours of Work: Typical hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Hourly Wage: $15.90 - $20.37, commensurate on experience. Typical Responsibilities Include:
- Serves as the first point of contact for a fast paced office by greeting individuals, providing information, answering questions directed via various modes (telephone, e-mail, in person), and responding to requests.
- Performs a variety of routine to moderately complex administrative office functions that require an understanding of departmental or divisional operations and policies in support of the department.
- Coordinates and maintains effective office procedures and efficient work flow. Establishes and maintains efficient filing systems and office organization.
- Maintains good working relationships with other areas of the college to ensure accurate reporting and coordination of activities.
- Exercises good judgment and discretion when handling confidential items or providing information to employees, students, or the public.
To be Considered You'll Need: High school diploma or GED required. At least one year of administrative assistant experience or an Associate's degree (business, office administration, or related field preferred).

SkillSurvey Reference, a cloud-based, data-driven solution allows us to access relevant feedback from references provided by our candidates. The chosen references receive job-specific surveys on at least 26 critical behaviors and skills. These behavioral competencies have been scientifically studied and have been shown to correlate with work outcomes.
Stark State College utilizes E-Verify to ensure compliance with applicable employment eligibility laws. E-Verify is an electronic system used to confirm the employment eligibility of new hires. Retirement Benefits
Ohio Public Employees Retirement System The Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS), was established to provide a secure retirement for Ohio's public employees and their families. OPERS is available to all staff Members. The College contributes 14% of the employees' wages for the retirement benefit and the employee contributes 10%.
State Teachers Retirement System The State Teachers Retirement System (STRS), was established to provide a secure retirement for Ohio's public educators. STRS is available to all faculty members. The College contributes 14% of the employees' wages for the retirement benefit and the employee contributes 14% of their wages toward the retirement benefit.
Alternative Retirement Plan Faculty and staff may elect the Alternative Retirement Plan (ARP) in lieu of one of the state plans.
Voluntary Supplemental Retirement Accounts Stark State College offers supplemental, voluntary savings options to help faculty and staff plan for retirement.
