Immigration ParalegalCatholic Charities of Los Angeles' Immigration and Refugee Resettlement Services Program was established in 1955 and has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice since 1971. Our DOJ-accredited program provides support and advocacy to vulnerable immigrants and refugees, helping them achieve self-sufficiency, family unity, and successful integration through exceptional legal and social services. We serve the diverse populations of the Los Angeles area by supporting pathways to naturalization and facilitating family reunification.Responsibilities:IRR is seeking an Immigration Paralegal to oversee affirmative immigration matters from initial client consultation through final case resolution. Conduct detailed client interviews, assess eligibility for immigration relief in collaboration with attorneys and DOJ Accredited Representatives, develop case strategies, coordinate document collection, prepare legal filings, and proactively manage all aspects of the case to ensure timely, accurate, and successful completion.Key responsibilities include prepare, review, and coordinate the filing of complex family-based and humanitarian immigration applications and petitions, including VAWA (I-360), T Visas, U Visas, Adjustment of Status (I-485), Immediate Relative Petitions (I-130), DACA, Naturalization (N-400), Removal of Conditions (I-751), Waiver (I-601), Humanitarian and Advance Parole, Consular Processing, and responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and other government correspondence. Maintain meticulous case documentation, ensure compliance with legal, organizational, and funding requirements, and uphold the highest standards of quality and accuracy.Serve as a trusted liaison between clients, legal counsel, government agencies, and community partners by providing strategic case coordination, consistent communication, and exceptional client service throughout the representation. Support the organization's legal services and community outreach initiatives while demonstrating sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and an unwavering commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice, and excellence in client advocacy.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or at least five (5) years of related experience.Paralegal Certificate or a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a paralegal in immigration law.Prior experience in affirmative immigration legal services within a nonprofit organization and/or law firm preferred.Experience with Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) cases strongly preferred.Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred.Strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to take initiative and develop effective systems and programs required.Commitment to social justice and advocacy for immigrant communities required.This is a full-time, in-office position.Catholic Charities offers a wide range of employee benefits to support the total wellness of its employees.
