Payroll Specialist

Location: Springfield, IL (On-Site) Job Type: Full-Time Salary: $55,000 - $75,000 annually, based on experience About the Opportunity A well-established and growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join its team in Springfield, Illinois. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while supporting employees and management with payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a high level of confidentiality, and experience managing payroll or other financial processes in a fast-paced environment. Health insurance coverage Two weeks of paid time off (PTO) Stable and collaborative work environment Opportunities for professional growth and development Key Responsibilities Process weekly payroll accurately and on schedule Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data accuracy Review timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, garnishments, and other payroll adjustments Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits as needed Coordinate with management teams regarding employee changes and payroll updates Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, and benefits Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reporting Qualifications 2+ years of payroll processing experience preferred Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements Experience with QuickBooks Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred Location/Region: Springfield, IL #J-18808-Ljbffr Express Employment Professionals
