Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist reports directly into the Human Resource Director and provides broad HR support across benefits administration, onboarding, compliance, employee relations and recruiting. The HR Generalist will also provide backup support for payroll processing to ensure accuracy and operational continuity. This position requires professionalism, discretion, and the ability to operate effectively. Essential Functions: Serve as a first point of contact for routine employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and procedures Administer employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, and 401(k) benefits. Maintain benefits on multiple online portals Consult with employees about eligibility and other issues Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims On-boarding- Responsible for benefits orientations; including guiding new employees through benefits self-enrollment system. Off-boarding- Responsible for completing benefits termination paperwork and coordinating exit meeting explaining an employee’s staff departure benefits details (ie. COBRA, final benefits payroll deductions, etc). Facilitate COBRA, LOA’s, FMLA usage and other issues as required by legal requirements. Provide back-up support for semi-monthly payroll processing including timesheet review, processing, and submission Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and compensation information Utilize ADP Workforce Now to process and or view employee actions such as new hires, terminations and personal data changes Process verification of employment requests Assists employees with registering or resetting password for HRIS system Support full-cycle recruiting for experienced hires, interns, and campus recruiting initiatives Schedule and coordinate interviews with hiring managers Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation Assist with career fairs, university relations, and internship program logistics Conduct reference checks and coordinate background screenings Add staff to LMS system and assist with training coordination as directed Order business cards, name tags and door plates Maintain and update firm training calendar and birthday and anniversary lists Prepare new hire workstations Assist with additional projects as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field Five to seven years’ of progressive HR experience, preferably within a professional services environment Required Skills Working knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now Intermediate MS Word, and Excel skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and able to handle confidential information with discretion Strong organizational, attention to detail skills and ability to manage multiple projects Professional demeanor and dress Team player Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Adaptable and flexible Equal Opportunity Statement We are committed to diversity and inclusivity in our hiring practices. #J-18808-Ljbffr
