GENERAL STATEMENT:
Dutchess BOCES seeks an innovative, collaborative, and service-oriented educational leader to serve as the Director of Human Resources. Reporting directly to the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, the Director will play a critical role in advancing the agency's Blueprint for Excellence by leading strategic human resource initiatives that strengthen recruitment, retention, employee engagement, organizational culture, leadership development, and workforce excellence.
This position requires a visionary leader who understands that people are the foundation of organizational success and that a thriving workforce is essential to preparing students and schools for the future. As a member of the Human Resources leadership team, the Director will contribute to building a future-ready workforce through innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and a steadfast commitment to excellence in public education.

TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT:
• Full-time, 12-month, tenure track, District-level assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS,
EXPERIENCE AND
COMPETENCIES:
Required Certification
Valid New York State School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA) certificate.
Required Experience
• Minimum of three (5) years of successful administrative leadership experience.
• Demonstrated experience in human resources, employee relations, recruitment, investigations, organizational leadership, or educational administration.
• Experience supervising personnel and leading organizational initiatives preferred.

DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead innovative recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies that attract and retain highly qualified employees.
• Develop and implement workforce initiatives that align with the Dutchess BOCES Blueprint for Excellence and long-term strategic priorities.
• Foster a culture of professionalism, collaboration, innovation, engagement, accountability, and belonging.
• Design, coordinate, and evaluate employee orientation, professional learning, leadership development, mentoring, and succession planning initiatives.
• Conduct confidential personnel investigations, workplace investigations, and employee relations inquiries while ensuring fairness, consistency, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
• Provide consultation and coaching to administrators regarding employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, organizational development, and personnel practices.
• Promote employee recognition, wellness, engagement, and organizational pride via Recognition Ceremonies and celebrations
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources.
• Comprehensive knowledge of educational leadership and public-sector human resources.
• Experience conducting objective, legally sound workplace investigations.
• High ethical standards, professionalism, and sound judgment.

SALARY : $130,000 to $160,000
