Instructional Assistant - Loves Park, Illinois

Job Description

Support students in a vibrant, engaging K-2 instructional classroom, working alongside a team of dedicated professionals in a contract position. This rewarding opportunity allows you to make a true impact, fostering growth for five energetic young boys—each supported by their own 1:1 paraprofessional. Enjoy meaningful workdays with hours of 7:50am–3:10pm.

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience supporting children in educational or childcare settings is highly valued
Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with young learners
Patience, adaptability, and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Comfortable working 1:1, providing individualized support and encouragement
Eagerness to collaborate with teachers and follow individualized student plans
Understanding of basic classroom management strategies and responding proactively to active student needs

Key Responsibilities:

Offer direct assistance to kindergarten–second grade students, helping them engage in daily lessons and activities
Implement teacher-led instruction and classroom routines while customizing support for assigned student
Facilitate positive social interactions and model appropriate behaviors throughout the school day
Support students in transitions, including arrival, lunch, recess, and dismissal
Track student progress; share observations and insights with the instructional team
Maintain a safe, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment
