About the Role
The Company is in search of an Assistant Vice President for Campus Planning, Design, and Construction. This executive role is pivotal in the close coordination of short- and long-range facilities master planning, construction coordination, code enforcement, major rehabilitation, and the campus space utilization program. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and submission of annual capital state-funded budget requests, managing project spending, and providing updates to executive leadership. Additionally, the AVP will lead a team of project managers, logistics managers, and code enforcement officers, and must have a strong background in mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and general construction, as well as expertise in healthcare design software and sustainability certifications. Applicants for the AVP position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in architecture, planning, or a related technical field, with a Master's degree and/or RA certification preferred. A minimum of 15 years' experience in architecture and interior design, including at least 7 years in a leadership role, is required. The role demands a candidate with a proven track record in managing large-scale corporate design and construction projects, strong leadership skills, and the ability to lead a multidisciplinary team. Experience in higher education or hospital facilities is also preferred. The AVP will be expected to have a deep understanding of building codes, regulations, and systems, as well as experience in real estate and construction management. The position requires excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, and a commitment to the principles of accountability, collaboration, and diversity.
