\n \nAbout the Opportunity:
\nMy client, one of the most entrepreneurial and fast-moving private investment companies in the real estate space, is looking to hire a Senior Controller.
\n \nThis is a hands-on leadership role where you own the accounting function, lead a distributed team, and report directly to ownership. You are not a number two here, you are the person who sets the standard, closes the books, and keeps everything running clean.
\n \nIf you have built or stabilized an accounting function inside a real estate company and you know how to lead a lean team without layers between you and the work, this role was written for you.
\n \nResponsibilities:
\n- \n
- Own the full close cycle across multiple entities and deliver accurate financial statements to ownership on time every month \n
- Lead and manage a distributed accounting team including offshore staff, setting expectations and holding people accountable \n
- Serve as the direct financial partner to ownership, turning numbers into decisions that move the business forward \n
- Build and maintain internal controls that actually scale as the portfolio and entity count grows \n
- Manage all third-party relationships including auditors, tax advisors, and banking contacts \n
- Drive cash flow visibility and oversee treasury functions across a complex and expanding portfolio \n
- Review, improve, and modify financial statements produced by your team before they reach leadership \n
- Oversee financial reporting across multiple investment entities and asset classes \n
Must-Have Skills:
\n- \n
- Senior Controller or Director of Accounting with real estate accounting experience, must understand multifamily from an investment standpoint \n
- QuickBooks Online, active and current, this is the primary system used \n
- Experience managing a distributed or offshore accounting team of 2 or more direct reports, hands-on day to day \n
Nice-to-Have Skills:

- AppFolio experience, current or recent \n
- Experience supporting a private investment company or principal investor with diversified holdings \n
- CPA designation \n
