Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This part-time contract opportunity near Cicero, IL, offers a chance to support students as a Special Education Resource Teacher. You’ll focus on providing resource programming for learners who spend most of their day in general education but need specialized interventions and accommodations.

This position involves working two days per week, supporting students at the elementary level. The role is designed for someone experienced in implementing IEPs, offering both push-in and pull-out support models, and tailoring instruction to ensure all students can access the curriculum.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current certification in Special Education, meeting district and state requirements
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, ideally in a resource or inclusive setting
• Solid understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Passion for supporting students’ academic and executive functioning skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and intervention to students in general education classrooms
• Implement accommodations, interventions, and IEP services throughout the instructional day
• Act as a resource to students and teachers, delivering both push-in and pull-out support
• Monitor student progress and document growth related to IEP goals
• Foster an inclusive, positive learning environment
• Maintain communication with staff and families regarding student progress
