Acute Care Technician - Med Surg Urology Part Time Night Shift - TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital Location 375 Dixmyth Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45220 Work Schedule Part Time Nights – 48 hours bi‑weekly 6:30pm – 7:00am Every 3rd weekend rotation Holiday rotation 14AB is a medical unit with 22 beds. Our patient population consists of adult and geriatric patients with varied medical diagnoses including complications from diabetes, pneumonia, cellulitis, encephalopathy, and remote telemetry. We also care for renal and urology surgery patients including those who have had a nephrectomy, prostatectomy, transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) and those with continuous bladder irrigation (CBI). Any patients admitted to the hospital who require peritoneal dialysis (PD) treatments, have PD care managed by a trained 14AB nurse. This unit supports the growth and learning of new grads and provides opportunities to master time management and a variety of skills such as suprapubic catheter exchange, continuous bladder irrigation, vascath removal and peritoneal dialysis. Job Requirements 2 years high school education. Age 17 with work permit. Basic Life Support (BLS). Reading and math ability appropriate to the position. Experience as an STNA, PCA or ACT strongly preferred. Maintains a safe, clean environment by reporting hazards, following Infection Control policies, completing safety event reports, and adhering to safety and emergency procedures. Communicates effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and team members; reports patient information and assignment issues promptly; documents observations accurately; collaborates with the healthcare team and uses the chain of command appropriately. Supports unit operations by performing supply, equipment, and environmental tasks; reports shortages or equipment problems and ensures supplies/equipment are ready for the next user.
