Acute Care Technician - Behavioral Health Part Time Day Shift – TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital Location 375 Dixmyth Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45220 Work Schedule Part Time Days – (72 hours bi-weekly) 7:00am – 7:30pm 3rd or 4th Weekend rotation Holiday rotation Overview Welcome to the Inpatient Behavioral Health Services Units 10fg and 10hi at TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital, where we specialize in providing compassionate and comprehensive care for adults aged 18 and up. Our unit operates on an acute crisis stabilization model, ensuring that patients receive urgent care to regain stability and well‑being. Our multidisciplinary team approach includes registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and Acute Care Technicians (ACTs). Each patient receives personalized and holistic care tailored to unique needs. We have a 10‑bed geriatric space focusing on dementia and cognitive impairment, and 28 other beds for adults experiencing depression and other mental illnesses. Patients typically stay 5‑7 days, benefiting from our dedicated team. Our staffing model is designed for optimal care around the clock with RNs, LPNs, ACTs, therapists, and social workers. Shifts are twelve‑hour with a weekend option for those who prefer it. We maintain an average patient‑to‑staff ratio of 1:5. We welcome new graduates eager to learn and grow. Training & Orientation All new team members attend a 5‑6‑week orientation, including CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute), TriHealth’s de‑escalation training. Job Requirements 2 years of high school education Age 17 with work permit Basic Life Support (BLS) Reading and math ability appropriate to the position Experience as an STNA, PCA, or ACT strongly preferred Job Responsibilities Perform and document basic patient care tasks under RN supervision; maintain competency and complete assignments on time. Maintain a safe, clean environment by reporting hazards, following infection control policies, completing safety event reports, and adhering to safety and emergency procedures. Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and team members; report patient information and assignment issues promptly; document observations accurately; collaborate with the healthcare team and use the chain of command appropriately. Support unit operations by performing supply, equipment, and environmental tasks; report shortages or equipment problems and ensure supplies/equipment are ready for the next user. Demonstrate accountability and commitment to self‑growth; identify areas for improvement and support organizational and unit changes.
