This 505-bed facility, established in 1935, operates a Level I Trauma Center and a Level III NICU, serving the broader Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia Appalachian Highlands region. The hospital provides a broad range of specialty services including cardiology, orthopedics, oncology, emergency care, surgical services, and ICU, and was the first site in Tennessee to offer transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) surgery. The facility has been recognized with Healthgrades' America's 50 Best Hospitals for Vascular Surgery Award and the Coronary Intervention Excellence Award, and operates as a community-centered, non-teaching medical center under a regional health system.

Clinicians will provide inpatient hospitalist coverage during either a day shift (10:00 AM - 8:00 PM) or night shift (8:00 PM - 6:00 AM), each 10 hours in length, on an on-site basis. The clinician will work alongside a physician team structured across five concurrent shifts - two 10-hour MD day shifts, two 12-hour MD day/extended shifts, and one overnight MD shift - supporting a high-volume inpatient environment with a total team census of approximately 93 encounters per day. No procedures are required, as this is a straight inpatient coverage role. Tennessee DEA, CDS, and Prescriptive Authority are required; board certification is required for this assignment.
