A Medical Scribe supports healthcare providers by accurately documenting patient information and clinical interactions in real time. Working in-person alongside physicians, this role involves detailed record-keeping, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations, and the preparation of comprehensive clinical notes to facilitate efficient patient care.
Responsibilities
- Document patient history and clinical encounters accurately and promptly
- Assist physicians with real-time data entry during patient visits
- Ensure data accuracy and completeness in medical records
- Prepare clear and thorough clinical notes for physician review
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality
- Utilize medical terminology correctly within documentation
- Collaborate daily with physicians in an in-person clinical environment
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in medical documentation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency with medical terminology and clinical documentation practices
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance standards
- Experience in medical transcription
