Position: Senior Employee Relations Specialist
Job Type: Temporary; Exempt
Shift Details: 8:00am-5:00pm; Monday - Friday
Work Location: Remote
Salary/Hourly Range: $70,000 - $75,000/year
Summary of Job
The Senior Employee Relations Specialist supports a positive and productive workplace by addressing employee concerns, conducting investigations, and advising leadership on performance and policy matters. This role ensures accurate documentation, analyzes data for actionable insights, and collaborates on strategies to enhance engagement, retention, and employee satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Investigations:
- Investigate employee and leadership concerns regarding policies, conduct, and performance promptly and professionally.
- Address and resolve employee complaints, grievances, and workplace conflicts in compliance with organizational policies and legal standards.
- Maintain meticulous and comprehensive documentation of all employee relations communications, investigations, and outcomes to ensure legal compliance, protect the organization, and support consistent decision-making.
Performance Management & Leadership Support:
- Review data and recommend potential corrective action plans and performance improvement plans; partner with leadership to revise and deliver these plans.
- Provide managers with guidance on performance management, disciplinary actions, and best practices for addressing employee relations issues.
- Collaborate with leadership to drive employee engagement initiatives and improve retention strategies.
Data Analysis & Employee Insights:
- Conduct, evaluate, and analyze exit interviews, 30/60/90-day check-ins, and employee survey data, providing actionable insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Utilize HRIS systems to analyze trends, create detailed reports, and present actionable findings to leadership.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of employee changes in the HRIS system, including all related communications (e.g., ClickUp tickets, offboarding communications), while maintaining up-to-date and compliant records.
Compliance & Regulatory Standards:
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Understand and adhere to RI International compliance standards as outlined in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.

Education/Licenses:
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent years of experience in employee relations).
Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, policies, processes
- Experience with compliance.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, particularly in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Detailed oriented, reliable, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.
Driving Requirements:
- If driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in Recovery Innovations driving policy.
- If not qualified to drive per driving policy, a Non-Driver Attestation form must be signed.
Miscellaneous Requirement(s):
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old unless residing in a state where funder or government regulations set a different minimum age requirement.
- Travel required based on business need.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.

- Must be able to pass substance abuse testing and/or tuberculous testing (if applicable).
- Must be able to pass education verification check.
- Must be able to obtain designated fingerprinting clearance in applicable states.
- Must be able to pass three-year motor vehicle report and meet minimum eligibility requirements criteria of insurance carrier (if driving is required for this position).
A Direct Service Competency Checklist must be completed as part of the new hire onboarding process.
Physical Demands: May include work close to the eyes and substantial motions of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, handling, finger dexterity; eye-hand-foot coordination, use of corrected vision; color vision; use of auditory senses. May be required to lift up to twenty (20) pounds. Work Environment May work in an office environment or behavioral health facility. May have contact with individuals who are agitated and/or confused.
