Expense Advisor

Job Summary The Expense Advisor supports the Data Center Operations function and is responsible for transactional & administrative finance tasks at the data center level, completing routine expense analysis for the data center. A key part of the role is the management of the procure-to-pay process, including handling Accounts Payable queries and vendor issues. The Advisor also gathers and consolidates forecast and budget information for the Data Center Operations teams and develops knowledge in expense analysis through coaching and instruction. Knowledge & Application: Learns to use professional concepts and applies basic problem‑solving techniques to define and resolve problems within guidelines. Complexity & Problem Solving: Works on problems of limited scope, following standard practices and procedures when analyzing situations or data that yield readily obtainable answers. Discretion & Impact: Work is reviewed periodically based on defined procedures. The role normally receives general instruction on work and new assignments. Collaboration and Interaction: Develops stable working relationships internally and exchanges standard/basic information with colleagues, the immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other team professionals. Responsibilities Procure to Pay Process Creates purchase orders for data centers and special projects Monitors purchase order quality and provides KPI reporting to improve the process Works with requestors to ensure POs are receipted correctly and timely Updates commitment values versus POs, working with Operations Finance/General Ledger, and assesses commitments not yet made versus budget Ensures compliance of Purchase Requests (5 W's), required contracts/legal approvals, accounting codes, and competitive bids Contacts vendors for invoices where necessary Solves billing/invoice problems related to the data center/project Budget Management Coordinates and consolidates budget and forecast inputs from Data Center Operations teams, undertaking ad‑hoc analysis to drive forecast adjustments Reporting Runs and provides commitment tracking reporting to data center teams; supports Data Center Operations finance on month‑end reporting, variance commentary, and the accrual process Generates KPI reporting around operations task completion and accuracy (e.g., receipting) Business Relationships Acts as key touch point for Operations team on finance‑related queries Supports vendors as key point of contact for query resolution, working closely with the Accounts Payable team Supports Operations finance on budget, forecast, and month‑end deliverables Acts as link between the business and finance to meet commitments Financial Problem Solving Solves routine problems Analyzes actual versus forecast variances Assists in month‑end accrual process Provides analysis and performs simple ad‑hoc duties as required Recommends process improvements and efficiency gains Qualifications 1‑2 years of finance‑related experience Operations finance experience a plus Positive attitude and initiative Pay Range United States – Dallas Infomart Office DAI: $61,200 – $91,800 USD / Annual Canada: $58,000 – $86,000 CAD / Annual Benefits Employee Assistance Program: Available to all employees US Core Benefits Insurance: Health, life, disability, and voluntary plans for you and eligible family members Retirement: Contributions to a retirement plan to help you plan for the future Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays: Accrued PTO each pay period and various paid holidays; eligibility requirements apply; benefits may change according to plan terms Canada Core Benefits Insurance: Healthcare coverage that complements the provincial system, plus life, disability, and optional benefit plans for you and eligible family members Retirement: Enrollment in Equinix‑sponsored retirement or savings plans: Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP), Group Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), and Tax‑Free Savings Plan (TFSA) Vacation and Paid Holidays: Equinix offers vacation and personal time, plus various paid holidays; eligibility requirements apply; benefits may change at Equinix discretion Equal Employment Opportunity Equinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
